Space for this free event is limited due to its popularity\, so participants must register in advance by calling the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) at 352-732-1225. Participants should arrive by 9 a.m. the day of the event.

DESCRIPTION:There will be a variety of exciting hands-on activities for families to enjoy\, all at no charge. There will be a kids’ fishing clinic\, Kayak 101\, K9 demonstrations\, kids’ nature activities tent\, exciting nature-based displays\, shooting activities\, food trucks and much more. Biologists will also offer hayride tours sharing how they manage natural resources and habitat for wildlife. \nThis kick-off celebration at Florida’s first Wildlife Management Area (established in 1941)\, is the first in a year-long schedule of activities around the state.
