Join popular Orange Audubon Society field trip leader Bob Sanders on Sunday, December 16th for a Limited Edition field trip to the Lake Jesup Conservation Area. Remember that any Limited Edition field trip requires registration directly with Bob during the week before the trip and costs $15 per person.
This 6000+ acre St. Johns River Water Management District property on the north shore of Lake Jesup is rich in bird life. With oak/ palmetto hammock, pasture, and wetlands adjacent to Lake Jesup, past sightings have included American White Pelicans, Bald Eagles, Limpkins, 7 species of shorebirds, Bonaparte’s Gulls, Black Skimmers, American Pipits, 6 species of warblers, Blue-headed Vireos, Eastern Meadowlarks, and Wilson’s Snipe.
Limited Edition Field Trips have a maximum of 15 participants, so that beginners can receive individualized attention. Cost is $10 per person per trip for OAS members and $15 per person for non-members. Reservations are required and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis the week prior to the trip.
